The New Faces of Hagerty Cycling - 04/29/2010

We wanted to introduce you to some new team members. This year we have added some new faces to the both the men's, women's and juniors team. Yes, that is correct, Juniors, thanks to our a new Hagerty team initiative we have launched a Youth Development Program. This year we have signed up six new young riders with the hope that they will learn the sport, grow to love it (like we all do) and help wave the Hagerty blue and white around the state in the junior peleton.
The Youth Development Program is more than just signing up young riders. We have paired each junior up with a mentor, who will help coach, instruct with training, racing and cycling etiquette. The sport of amateur road cycling takes a lot of discipline, commitment and focus and Team Hagerty is lucky to have one of the best team of veterans in the state. We take pride in the fact that the Juniors on our team will be in good hands, learning the rules of the road from folks who have raced in Michigan for many collective years.
Thanks to all of our mentors and veterans for helping in this effort and a big warm welcome to all of the new team members. If you see one of the new faces on the road, please cheer them on. Your encouragement and enthusiasm go a long way when we are suffering on the bike!
