It has been a while since our last update, so we decided to do a year end recap and summarize the fall racing season.
Wow! 2009 proved to be a stellar year for Hagerty Cycling. The race calendar was full of great events and Team Hagerty represented as many of them as possible. Some fall highlights include the Cherry-Roubaix two-day stage race, many great criteriums, cyclocross and mountain bike events.

The Cherry-Roubaix, our home town event, turned out to be one of the worse weather days of the year. The rain was coming out of the sky sideways and it was cold and gray the whole Saturday. That didn't stop the cyclists from coming out and racing the Old Town Crit. Turn out for the race was still more than double from last year, despite the poor weather. The event was a success with the help of all of our great local volunteers and Cherry-Roubaix planning committees.

During the middle of the Cherry-Roubaix crit the highlight was the Jolly Pumpkin Cruiser Classic. It was a smashing success and a great way to entertain the crowd during intermission.
The second day of the Cherry-Roubaix saw actual sun in the sky and dry roads. By no means was it a warm day but the sky's were clear so racers pulled on their arm and leg warmers and gave it their all. The racing was fast and furious!

Team hagerty also had a great year wrapping up with a handful of mountain biking and cyclocross races. The Peak to Peak, Iceman and ice cross series gave our cyclists a way to stay fit in the fall months and bring home some more hardware.

A big shout out goes to the Schmidt family who both nabbed 1st place finishes in their categories in the Iceman. Here is a photo of the whole family on the podium.
